Description:
Rare Series ware Plate "Monks and Mottoes" by Royal Doulton signed by Charles Noke.This series was started in 1911 and withdrawn 1928.This Plate shows the Seated Monk Fishing in a Pond with the motto "Tomorrow will be Friday".Cream Backgound with rocks,bushes,flowers reeds and lilly pads. Green rim around.No chips or cracks but it is crazed comiserate with the age.Factory mark Lion over Crown over Circle with Made in England.Royal Doulton England. Painted Series Number
